What is a
Destination Wedding
You could be relaxing ...
Instead of running around picking up all the
extras and making sure the catering is set, the music is right,
the flowers are flowering, your moms flight is on time, and if
the bridesmaids shoes are the right color, you can be sitting on
a beach waiting for your nail appointment. How
can this be you ask ? The true destination wedding you let
control of the details, You let the destination shine as your
decorations Your wedding party clothes are more casual. Your on
the beach, shoes are optional. The reception has been handled by
your hotel, us or your choice of vendors. And your not sweating
the small stuff. But you still may have to pick your Mom up at
the airport. Back
What if my best friend Can't make it.
Well we hope its not your best
friend, but you know no matter where or when you have your
wedding somebody won't be able to make it. But before your plans
are set you should try to check to see who would be able and
interested in coming along for the ride. Just keep in mind this
is your day. The other issue for your friends and family is
money, but well talk more about that later. Back
How
do I know if a Destination Wedding is for me?
If you have been dreaming of a big church
wedding with a lot of bridesmaids than maybe this isn't for you
unless your budget can handle it. If your mom will never forgive
you for not having the wedding of her dreams, than maybe it
isn't for you.
What do I do about every one else.
Everyone has your wedding planned, and your mom
has been planning this day FOREVER. What to do, what to do? This
is probably the hardest one, so what is the solution? Let her
plan the dinner reception, take her with you when you buy
your dress, there are still plans to be made (you will still
want her checkbook). When everyone has a different idea this
sometimes works well because it puts it back in your hands. You
don't have to worry about 6 bridesmaids you don't know or where
weird Uncle Tom sits. It's different, it's romantic, and it's your
day. And Mom will love sitting on the beach the rest of the
week. Back
Money Money
Money
Who pays for
what?? As far as the planning of the ceremony and the
Reception. Same as if you were getting married at home. Your
parents His parents You need to know where everyone stands. The
expenses are just going to vary. Here's some things to think of
first of all the total cost of a wedding at home. And then
decide how you or your parents will divide the expenses . You
may or may not want to pay some of the costs of airfare for your
wedding party. You know what your friends and your own wallet
can handle. Remember when you pick your destination to consider
what your wedding party can handle. You need to count the price
of meals into your plan for the people you pay to get there.
"Idea" if the grooms family can contribute let them
handle there own air and hotel and that of the groomsmen But it
is O.K. to ask the wedding party to pay for there airfare.
When you do not have to pay a caterer or a florist
you have a lot of options on how to use your money. Not
everyone will be able to afford to attend destination wedding.
Here is a sample of a budget
priced wedding in Hawaii. Back
Is all right to ask my
guests to pay for there room and airfare?
A lot of people travel to get to a
wedding even if you have it in your home town. So asking
then to pay for there own airfare is the fine. They will
all have there one personal schedules to deal with.
Normally the host will
pay for there Rooms, and some of there food. But let them
know before they arrive what meals you are covering. I suggest a
What's going on flyer. But if your family and friends have more
money than you it's O.K. to change that formula. Every one is
different. Back
Why
do I need a wedding planner?
Your wedding is just too important to just
point and click. If you don't use us, use somebody please. Most
of the time we turn the planning over to the hotel they have the
paid experts. But we gladly keep a eye on the big picture. We
have the expertise to make your wedding dreams a reality. We will
